Research Interests. My research is aimed at understanding the causes and effects of variation among individuals in a population. Along ecological lines, I am investigating the factors that cause or exacerbate variation in size among similar-aged individuals, and how size variation affects individual (behavioral and morphological), population, and community level responses. Along evolutionary lines, I am interested in the factors that promote morphological diversity within a population. My research has focused primarily on larval salamanders. I am also interested in the conservation biology of amphibians.
