This is a seedling four days
after I planted the seeds.
I planted it in play sand
in a medium acrylic box
I got at Michael's for $1.49

This is a closeup
of the same seedling.
I sprayed some water on it
to push some of the sand off
so I could see the seed better.

Another shot
of the same seed.
All of these were taken
around 5:00 PM 9/19/02.

This is the same seedling
around 11:00 PM 9/20/02.
The baobab grow pretty fast
under the halogen light strip
I have them under. There
is also some plastic sheeting
draped over the light,
creating a pretty warm
greenhouse. The seeds like
this setup with
the heat and light.

This is just a shot
of the entire container.
I wet this down so that
the sand is good
and wet,but there are
no pools of water on
the surface of the sand.
I closed it off,
and put it in the above-mentioned greenhouse.
